Narciso beanie

This beanie was finished in time for me to wear it whilst were on our recent cruise to Alaska.
And as it was made from 100% wool, it was very warm and cosy.
I used one of the medium sized looms (like the ones in the photo below) to make the beanie.
And there was enough yarn leftover to also make the fun pompom for the top of the beanie.
This was on my FAL Q2 list for this year so linking up with the 2017 FAL team.

Blueberry kiwi Openwork scarf

The colours of the Caron Cakes yarns are really lovely and I couldn't resist making another scarf for winter.
This is the Blueberry kiwi colourway of the Caron cakes yarn.
The pattern I used is the One Skein Openwork scarf from Joanns stores.
To finish it off I added in some fringing along the edges.
I have really enjoyed being able to take these smaller crochet projects along whilst on car trips.
And the colours really remind me of the beautiful lakes near Banff in Canada.

Elephant basket

A friend of mine was expecting her first grand-baby and I wanted to make a gift for the baby shower.
I decided to make another one-hour basket using the pattern by Kelbysews.
The nursery was being decorated in green so I chose some cute elephant drill for the fabric basket.
This project was on my FAL Q2 list for this year so linking up with the 2017 FAL team.

Blueberry Cheesecake triangle scarf

For my sister-in-laws birthday, I made her a triangle scarf similar to the one I made for my mother.
The pattern I used was the Desert Winds triangle scarf pattern by Jess Coppom.
This time I used one of the Caron Cake yarns in the Blueberry Cheesecake colourway.
I started this scarf on our way down to Newcastle a few months ago as it was a great project to take in the car.
I had just enough yarn to make this scarf and add a couple of fringes to the corners of the triangle.
This was on my FAL Q2 list for this year so linking up with the 2017 FAL team.

Zip top tote bag

When we were travelling overseas, I needed a carry on bag so made the Zip top tote from Anna Grahams (@noodlehead) book "Handmade Style".
The main fabric for the bag is a Cloud 9 Koi "It's a Plus" canvas along with some of my favourite black denim.
I didn't have any leather available for the handles so also used the black denim to make the straps.
I constructed the bag a little differently than the original pattern, and made the other side of the bag into a pocket large enough to carry magazines.
Like all of Annas patterns, it was very easy to make and I made this bag in one afternoon of sewing.
This was a great bag to use as a carry-on as it also doubled as a tote to throw jackets and snacks in each day whilst we were travelling.
